JOB SUMMARY: Provides direct patient care. Assists in clerical duties, maintaining medical records, monitoring patient interactions and traffic flow. Transports patients to and from the Program on a daily basis. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Class I.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education: High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree desired. In general, 1 yr. equivalent work experience in psychiatric/addictive disease treatment facility.

B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Communication skills; ability to build rapport with patients; positive attitude and commitment to treat patients with dignity and respect; must possess valid State driver’s license and proof of driving record for insurance purposes with the Hospital.

C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: None required.

D. Experience:
1. Prior Work Experience: Experience working with psychiatric/addictive disease patients preferred.
2. Technical Training: Must be able to access computer data base and provide documentation.

E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require intermittent walking, sitting, and standing. Some bending, stooping, and reaching are required with the lifting of items up to a weight of 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
