JOB TITLE: Medical Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Rural Health Clinic
JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a physician and/or office nurse, provides nursing care in a clinic environment. Directs patients to exam rooms and prepares appropriate equipment and resources in the provision of clinic services and care. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens I.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Possess reading and verbal skills necessary to understand medical records and procedures and to communicate effectively with patients and other staff.
C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: CNA, LVN or RN preferred.
D. Experience:
1. Prior Work Experience: Experience in medical office or clinic setting preferred.
2. Technical Training: CPR certification required.
E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require intermittent walking, sitting, and standing. Some bending, stooping and reaching is required with the lifting of items up to a weight of 40 pounds.
