Restorative Nurse Aide
at Human Resources in Coon Memorial Nursing Home
JOB SUMMARY: Assists the Nursing Department in carrying out individual and/or group treatments for residents. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Class I.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of an 80 hour approved Nurse Aide Course within four months of hire date and of a regional Nursing Aide Course for long term care Nurse Aides.
B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Ability to read and write, effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to comprehend and follow verbal or written instructions. Knowledge of residents’ rights.
C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: Certified as a Restorative Nurse Aide and on the Texas Registry.
D. Experience:
1. Prior Work Experience: Six months experience in a health related field. Previous experience as a Certified Restorative Nurse Aide preferred.
2. Technical Training: Current CPR.
E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting residents who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
