Nurse Manager
at Human Resources in Coon Memorial Nursing Home
JOB SUMMARY: Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care of residents. Responsible for ensuring continuity of care between shifts. Supervises the care given by CNAs, LVNs, RNs and supportive staff members. Oversees resident and family teaching. Maintains role of resident advocate. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Class I.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills. Management and leadership abilities. Knowledge and experience of Texas Standards for Nursing Homes preferred.
C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: Licensed by the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse.
D. Experience:
1. Prior Work Experience: Two years of experience in a medical setting with an emphasis on leadership and supervisory skills.
2. Technical Training: Current CPR.
E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
