Treatment Nurse
at Human Resources in Coon Memorial Nursing Home
JOB SUMMARY: Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care of residents. Responsible for ensuring continuity of care between shifts. Supervises the care given by CNAs, CMAs, and supportive staff members. Participates in teaching residents and family members. Maintains role of resident advocate. Documents all care and treatment of residents in a timely manner. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Class I.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Vocational or Professional Nursing.
B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills. Management and leadership abilities. Knowledge and experience of Texas Standards for Nursing Homes preferred.
C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: Licensed by the State of Texas as a Vocational or Registered Nurse.
D. Experience:
1. Prior Work Experience: One year experience in a medical setting preferred.
2. Technical Training: Current CPR.
E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
